HISTORY
The Eyecare Centre was founded the 1950's and became the center for optical needs in the Brighton, Hove and the Sussex area. It was taken on by its current owners, London Optometrist Dr Sandip Doshi PhD BSc MCOptom, and New Zealand Dispensing Optician Mr Simon Brown FBDO in 2000 who previously worked together in London.
We now offer thorough eyecare, sight testing and contact lens consultations. We take the time to cater to indivdual needs. We listen to what you may require to suit the demands of your work, lifestyle and passtimes.
All contact lenses are also supplied:
including daily disposable, multifocal and now also Ortho - K night time lenses for myopia control.
We are equipped for AMD and glaucoma screening along with the latest OCT imaging equipment.

ORTHO - K CONTACT LENSES
Ortho-k lenses correct your vision while you sleep. Simply pop your ortho-k lenses in before bedtime, remove them in the morning, and wake to a world of clear, natural vision. Ortho-k is sometimes called orthokeratology or EyeDream.
It allows people suffering from myopia, or short-sightedness, to enjoy a life without lenses or specs during the day, whilst enjoying natural, corrected vision. Ortho-k is fantastic for children. Numerous studies on myopia and ortho-k have indicated that these lenses can dramatically slow, even stop, the progression of short-sightedness in children.
SPECTACLE LENSES
There are many lens options for your new glasses. Our qualified Dispensing Optician will recommend which lens is best for you by asking questions about your lifestyle and when you wear your glasses most. We can then help you best choose from the hundreds of quality lenses available. Whether the lens needs to be made thinner and lighter, or a multi-focal lens to encompass both near and distant vision, we specialise in lenses for every need.
As well as correcting your vision, lens materials are available for protection suited to to your needs. Whether it be glare or UV emitted from lighting or screens, driving conditions or polarisation for sun and reflection, we will explain your options.
CONTACT LENSES
Nowadays, contact lenses are a comfortable and affordable addition to wearing glasses. Given all the lens choices now available you can find contacts for use every day, occasionally, for sport or even for changing the colour of your eyes. An Optometrist should be your first step to understanding your suitability for contact lenses and how simple they are to wear. The Eyecare Centre can tailor-make a solution for you.
FRAMES
We've got you seeing well, but we also want you to look great. The latest designs and strong, light weight materials ensure you a comfortable, stylish look.
You can choose from a large selection of designer frames from brands such as Alain Mikli, Bvlgari, Cartier, Cazal, Calvin Klein, Lindberg, Oakley, Philippe Starck, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, La Font, Ray Ban, REVO, Salvatore Ferragamo, Silhouette, Versace, Skaga, L.A.Eyeworks, MODO and William Morris.
You’ll also find quality brands of sunglasses, most of which can be fitted with UV protecting prescription lenses.
