An enhanced eye examination with us includes the use of specialist equipment to image your eyes.
This allows us to see small subtle changes to your eyes, which provides us with a baseline for your future care, helps us identify conditions sooner, and can enable successful management or treatment.
To take advantage of our latest equipment, we recommend booking our Enhanced Exam, which includes OCT and Optomap. Visual fields will be assessed if our Optometrist believes it is clinically required or of benefit for you.
OCT
OCT employs light waves to capture detailed cross-sectional retinal images. This technique provides a three-dimensional perspective of the eye's layers, allowing for early detection of changes indicative of diseases such as glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration.
Optomap
Our Optomap camera captures a panoramic image of the retina up to 200° in a single picture. This wide-angle view surpasses traditional retinal photography's 40° coverage, allowing us to identify peripheral retinal conditions.
Humphrey visual field analyser
The Humphrey visual field analyser is the "Gold" standard for visual field examination, which is an integral test in helping to detect and monitor a variety of eye and neurological conditions.
NHS Eye Examinations
If you qualify for NHS help, you may use your contribution from the NHS either towards a full eye examination with us, or just the basic NHS Sight Test.
