I graduated from City University and was fully qualified to practice in the UK by age 22.
Soon after my qualifications, I returned to my birthplace, Trinidad, to work with a small optical company called Ferriera Optical. After a 6-year period, I returned to the UK, initially with a small independent multiple in Hampshire. I started at Barnard Optometrists in October 2000 and became a Practice Partner in February 2005.
In 2011, I did my qualifying examinations to be able to practise in Australia. (Long story!).

Dr Sandip Doshi is a highly experienced optometrist with 34 years of clinical expertise looking after patients in Manchester, London, and Sussex. He has been the Principal Optometrist and director of The Eyecare Centre since May 2000. He is one of only a handful of optometrists with a PhD in Optometry and Vision Sciences in Sussex.
His interests include: general practice, complex and standard contact lens work, myopia management, ocular pathology and management of complex prescription . He is regularly asked by his peers to give an opinion on patient management.
Dr Doshi is an industry recognised expert and is a consultant/key opinion to numerous manufacturers and technology companies in the optical industry. He has worked in academia, hospital eye services, refractive (laser surgery), publishing (as the Clinical Editor of Optician) magazine and general practice.
Dr Doshi is highly respected by his fellow optometrist peers and has taught many of the current industry leaders. He has published numerous books, book chapters and articles in the industry.
