The New Dayton Plus Optomap

Updated: May 30, 2020

The Daytona Plus, optomap™ - is state of the art digital scanning technology that allows for Ultra Wide Field imaging of the health of the retina. The new Dayton Plus optomap™ photographs a full image of up to 200 degrees. This increases our view of the retina from traditional viewing of 15% to a massive 80%, captured in a second. Your retina is the only place in the body where blood vessels can be viewed directly. This means, in addition to eye conditions, signs of other diseases (for example, stroke, heart disease, hypertension, cancer and diabetes) can be seen in the retina. Early detection is essential so treatments can be administered. Early signs of these condition can show up in your retina long before you notice any changes to your vision or feel any symptoms or pain. Daytona Plus optomap™ allows us to detect early signs from these vision-threatening conditions. Unlike dilation there are no drops and no blurry vision. We recommend optomap™ ultra-wide digital retinal imaging as part of your comprehensive eye exam today. Please ask when booking your appointment how to combine this procedure with your regular test.
